Microwaves

Microwaves – A Must-Have Kitchen Appliance

Microwaves have become a staple item in nearly every kitchen, offering convenience and ease when it comes to preparing meals. A common appliance, microwaves allow homeowners to heat up meals, no matter what their culinary tastes. From thawing out frozen meals to instantaneously heating leftovers from dinner the night before, microwaves provide the power to serve up hot meals in just minutes by using electromagnetic waves called microwaves. Not only are they great for reheating leftovers, but they can also provide a fast and easy way to cook items like vegetable sides, pizzas, and burgers and sandwiches. Despite the fact that microwaves are traditionally used to heat up food, some of the newer models are also equipped to bake cakes and slow-cook meats.

Types of Microwaves

Countertop Microwaves – Countertop microwaves, which are the most common type, are generally the most affordable and require the least space. They can be placed on a counter or table, or can even be mounted inside a cabinet. They are often large enough to fit a medium-sized plate or bowl inside, and provide a great way to quickly heat up food for one or two people with ease.

Built-In Microwaves – If you’re looking for a more permanent solution to your microwave needs, built-in models may be the way to go. These microwaves are designed to fit seamlessly into cabinetry and can help to create a smooth appearance in the kitchen.

Over-the-Range Microwaves – Ideal for smaller spaces, over-the-range microwaves allow users to open up the countertop space and take advantage of the second counter their range provides. These models are installed against the wall and feature a recirculating fan to keep grease and smoke from lingering in the kitchen.

Hood Microwaves – Hood microwaves offer a combination of a fan, light, and a microwave all in one. These microwaves can be installed underneath a wall cabinet or stove hood and provide great ventilation for kitchens.

Drawer Microwaves – Drawer microwaves are designed to be installed in a kitchen island or peninsula, allowing the user to simply pull out the open and access their microwave without bending over. New models are even equipped with a control lock feature that prevents curious children from opening the door.

Speed Cook Microwaves – Speed Cook microwaves exceed that of your average microwave due to their combination of microwaving, convection cooking, and browning. These microwaves give users the ability to bake and roast without preheating, making meals all the more convenient.

Sensors – Sensors allow users to program their microwave to detect steam and humidity levels, and adjust the settings and power levels accordingly. Selecting a model with a sensor will ensure that food comes out as accurately and evenly as possible.

From countertop microwaves to hood microwaves, there is no shortage of options when it comes to finding the perfect microwave for your needs. Microwaves have made cooking easier, faster, and more convenient while eliminating the need to preheat ovens and find pans and dishes to heat food in. And while microwaves are commonly used to reheat food, some of the newer models are even capable of baking cakes and slow-cooking vegetables and meats. The variety of models available means that there is a microwave to fit virtually any lifestyle or need. With the wide selection of models and features available, the possibilities are truly endless when it comes to utilizing a microwave in the kitchen.
